History of the Miss Rodeo Nevada Crown

The current Miss Rodeo Nevada crown was first worn by Miss Rodeo Nevada 2004, Selena (Ulch) Pope, who went on to hold the title of Miss Rodeo America 2005.

Crumrine Gold & Silversmiths (Reno, Nevada) created the new crown.   The intricate silver scroll work with gold lettering highlights the mining industry in the Silver State.   The blue “NEVADA” lettering ties in our flag and state colors.

Since 1957, there have been 6 different crowns, one being a simple state pin worn by Miss Rodeo Nevada 1972, Pam (Martin) Minick, who went on to hold the title of Miss Rodeo America 1973.

The Miss Rodeo Nevada crown and those who wear it will always shine brightly under the blue Nevada skies.

As you may notice, the bottom row of MRN Crowns are images of newspaper clippings (from researching past Miss Rodeo Nevada queens on newspaper archive websites) and are not very good quality.   Also, we confess they may not be accurate due to lack of records we have and is a “best guess” at this time.   There was no internet or social media back then to draw upon, unfortunately.   Just newspapers from archive websites…
